Happy accident – linen bias cut Sorbetto vest

I actually bought some fabric with a specific purpose in mind this week rather than Impulse stash buying. I bought a cotton linen in oatmeal for a simple shift dress and washed the fabric in readiness for my weekend sewing. The fabric fiend  sneaked in the washing machine and left a splodge of blue graffiti on it!

Oh well it will have to be a top now then I had a cunning plan: cut it n the bias, the splodges are in the corners so it might work. I used the free download Sorbetto by Colette but left out the centre pleat as I wanted a simple classic look.

Its a really simple pattern to follow and sews up nice and quick in fact I even had time to make up my own bias binding, very grown up!

Ta da! Used my new found love, the twin needle for top stitching  and hey presto
